Paston walks book is launched in Norwich
Our invitation-only launch of the new Paston walks book at St Peter Hungate on December 17 was extremely successful, with about 50 people attending. After being welcomed by PHS chair Dr Rob Knee, they heard Tim Lenton, who edited the book, introduce the book and present poetry readings by James Knox Whittet, Kay Riggs, Rob Knee and himself, plus Dot Lenton on behalf of Lisa D'Onofrio, who now lives in Australia.
The book, called In the Footprints of the Pastons, decribes a walk round the Paston sites in Norwich, with pictures and poems by members of Chronicle, the Paston poetry group.
Welcome refreshments on a wintry afternoon both inside and outside the church (there were problems with a boiler) were provided by Rob and Penny Knee, and re-enactors were in attendance. Thanks are due to Hungate trustee Sophie Cabot for opening the church and doing her best to make everyone comfortable.
* In the picture the sinister figure in red is not the ghost of Walter Paston, but Rob Knee in character.
